What happens inside the Saraswati Homa

Performed in the authentic VDS Vaidic paddhati — Sankalpa, Ganapati Puja, Kalasha Sthapana, Punyahavachanam, the consecration of Agni, the deity's offerings, and the final Purnahuti.

Sankalpa & Ganapati Puja
The intention for learning and success is set; Ganapati is invoked to remove obstacles.

Saraswati invocation
Goddess Saraswati is invoked and worshipped with her Ashtottara (108 names).

Saraswati Homa
Ghee and offerings are made into Agni with the Saraswati mantra, drawing her grace of wisdom.

Akshara & book puja
Books, instruments or a child's slate are placed before the Goddess and blessed.

Purnahuti & Aarti
The final offering completes the homa; vibhuti and blessings are given.
